Job Title
SAS Administrator- Southern California- 6 months contract to perm
Job Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of SAS installation including but not limited to:
- Installation, testing, maintenance and support of all SAS components
- Consulting with users to make code efficiency improvement suggestions
- Unix (IBM AIX) and desktop support for all SAS components
- Daily support for SAS Analytics groups
- Daily administration duties including backups and trouble shooting all aspects of the SAS environment
- Working with the Data Warehouse IT team to identify improvement opportunities in the SAS environment related to data management and processing efficiency
- Creation and maintenance of system documentation related to the SAS environment
- Working on a daily basis with end users to ensure full understanding of their SAS requirements and that those requirements are met
- Act as single point of contact with SAS Institute to ensure a good working relationship with the vendor
- Subject matter expert for all SAS related technical issues
Job Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of all SAS 9 components including but not limited to:
- Base SAS
- SAS Enterprise Guide
- SAS Enterprise Miner
- SAS Connect
- PC SAS
- Knowledge of Data Warehouse terminology, architecture and design
- Communication skills
- Must be able to communicate effectively with business users in Credit Risk, Marketing and Treasury functions
- Must be able to work effectively with other IT teams including desktop support functions, Help desk, Unix infrastructure, Database and Data Warehouse teams
- Must be able to deliver training services to end users as required
- Solid understanding of SAS statistical modeling capabilities and terminology
- Good understanding and working knowledge IBM AIX environment
- Minimum of five years SAS experience in a medium sized SAS environment (35-70 users)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
